Solden Hill House is the main house where residents meet on a daily basis to partake in activities, go on outings and have their lunch. A large detached property, Solden Hill House can be mistaken for an old Manor House.
Situated in 8 1/2 acres of gardens most workshops are housed here. From Craft to Furniture restoration and Music to Photography, residents can join in the activities of the day with residents from the four other houses. Solden Hill also has a main dining room and in house cook who prepares lunch daily (Monday – Friday) for everyone.
Situated in the village of Byfield less than a mile from Solden Hill House, Flora Innes House, known as ‘The Green’, is a detached property opposite the local shop.
There are 9 bedrooms housed over 3 floors each with their own hand basins and access to shared bathrooms. Each room is individual due to the old character of the House.
The house has its own kitchen a lounge and activity room.Residents have their breakfast each morning at the house before driving down to the main house for their daily activities.
Dinner is also prepared at Flora Innes with residents all having their own jobs to help in the preparation. At weekends, Flora Innes residents will spend their time at their house.
Apps House is in the grounds of Solden Hill House. With 10 bedrooms split over 3 levels, each bedroom has its own handbasin and has access to a shared bathroom. The house also comprises of a large kitchen and separate lounge area. Breakfast and Dinner is served in the house daily. Lunch is taken with residents from the other houses in Solden Hill’s main dining room, Monday – Friday.
At weekends, residents stay in their own house and decide between themselves what they want to do.
The Pottery and Wellbeing rooms are in Apps house.
The Registered Managers of both CQC registrations have their main offices in this building.
Giles House is a detached property in the grounds of Solden Hill offering independent living.
There are 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and lounge area. One room is en-suite with the other two sharing a bathroom. Staff support tenants to enable them to have an independent life.
Tenants in Giles House make their own decisions based on what they want to do daily. If they want to join any activities that Solden Hill House are organising this can be arranged.
Our new lodges which will be completed in early 2020 and will create 6 placements which will include x2 step down flats designed to showcase and support individuality and the ultimate goal of having you own house. Our strategy is driven by Local Authority need and CQC guidance for ‘Registering the right support’.
